"indian predators?"

The other day, I was reading an article about the famous takeover of Corus by Tata Steel where a phrase jumped out at me which described the growing Indian companies as "these Indian predators"..felt really good. I love it when anything Indian is projected as being aggressive!.

The article was about how Indian companies are increasingly entering into the global arena, or should i say storming into the global arena. Stats reveal that almost 40 percent of Indian companies have made at least one international acquisition in the past three years. In the past, it was really frustrating to see foreign investors all barging into the Indian markets .But it's encouraging to know that Indian companies which were an easy target for global conquerors have now turned hunters themselves, as seen in the Mittal steel's conquest of Arcelor.

Indians are increasingly becoming globally competitive, and more importantly, they are all being successful.( touch wood!) . We are now experiencing an immense wave of ambition and a passion for excellence. Our firms are now in a position to take on their foreign counterparts both at home and overseas. Also, these Tatas and Mittals are also inspiring others to engage in mergers and acquisitions on their way to expanding beyond the Indian arena.

The Indian domestic market is going great too. While Wal-mart is entering into india big time through a tie-up with Bharti, we have our very own Reliance to give it a stiff competition.

Well, one thing's for sure.. the Indian business scenario is going to become very interesting!!

Go India , go!!
